Maintenance free porch gallows brackets. Three load bearing, one not.
Gallows brackets are triangular shaped brackets (in the shape of gallows, thus the name) that are usually used as structural supports. You will commonly find steel or iron versions supporting a chimney breast or stack.
Porch gallows brackets would usually be supporting the weight of the porch, or canopy. Unlike those supporting a chimney breast, they are traditionally made of wood and more decoratively shaped, so that they also provide an attractive, decorative feature.
Our brackets look just like wood, with a woodgrain texture in a pre-finished white colour, but they are made from a synthetic material. They are reinforced with steel rods so that they can support the weight of a canopy or porch (except for Bracket 1, which has no woodgrain texture and cannot take weight).
Please ensure that you never exceed the structural load bearing capacity of the product though – we specify this with each bracket. If you are unsure, check with your builder or engineer.
Whilst we can’t offer samples for our brackets, we are on the end of the phone to help with technical questions as best we can. We hope to hear from you soon.
Gallows brackets 2, 3 & 4 are screwed into position. Guide holes are marked on the product for your ease, and installation instructions provided with the product. DO NOT USE COUNTERSUNK SCREWS – these can be drilled too deep and split the product and damage their structural integrity. Use mushroom headed screws and please follow the installation instructions.
For the perfect finish use polytop screws (screws are not provided).
Bracket one is also simply screwed into position through the front of the bracket (screws not provided).
